HMH names chief nursing officer
Michelle Skillings has been named chief nursing officer at Howard Memorial Hospital effective Nov. 1.
Skillings is a registered nurse with more than 20 years of experience as a CNO and director of nursing. She received her BSN from Webster University in Missouri and her master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Phoenix.
Her experience as chief nursing officer includes customer service, patient safety, quality improvement, project management, physician/employee relations, strategic planning, financial management, team building, program development in marketing.
She has worked in various types of facilities ranging from large urban to critical access.
Skillings has her certificate in supervision from the University of Missouri. Other credentials include Certified Train the Trainer for Alzheimer’s in Missouri, disaster training from the Minnesota Safety Council, and certificate in healthcare quality.
She is a member of the American Nurse Association.
