NJHS basketball split games Monday
The Nashville Junior High School basketball teams split a pair of games Monday night in the opening round of the Dierks Junior Tournament.
The Scrapperettes defeated the Umpire girls 39-9.
Kee Richardson led the junior girls with 9 points, followed by Maddi Horton with 8, McKayla Vines and Hanna White with 6 each, and Kendall Kirchhoff, Kaylea Carver, Rachel Bradshaw, Asia Munn and Raegan Erskine with 2 each.
Nashville led 25-5 at halftime.
In the junior boys game, the Scrappers fell to Ashdown 41-28.
Darius Hopkins was the leading scorer for Nashville with 21 points. Jordan Williams scored 3, with 2 from Winland Ogden.
Ashdown led 17-15 at halftime but put up 24 points in the second half compared to 13 for the Scrappers.
The tournament continues through Saturday.
