H. J. Payne, 92, of Hope, Ark., died Nov. 22, 2012 in Prescott.

He was born July 30, 1927 in Center Point, Ark., to the late Henry J. Sr. and Helen Rooks Payne.

He was a member of the Hope Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, June Payne; three sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include: two sons, Dennis Payne and wife, Cindy, of Richland, Mo., and Steve Payne of Texarkana, Ark.; also grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. at Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home in Hope.

Services were Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Hope Church of Christ with Barry Haynes and James Hastings officiating. Interment followed in Center Point Cemetery under the direction of Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home.
