Obituary: James Andrew Morris
James Andrew Morris, 74, of De Queen, died Tuesday, Jan. 1.
He was born Nov. 29, 1938 at Umpire to the late Grady Denzil and Sibyl W. Wakley Morris.
He was a retired contractor, and pastor of Holiness churches in Arkansas and Oklahoma.
Survivors include: his wife of 53 years, Sheila Schloh Morris of De Queen; two sons, Brad Morris and wife, Tammy of De Queen, and Brian Morris and wife, Paula of Nashville; two daughters, Linda Dorse of De Queen, and Shonda K. Yandell and husband, Waylon of De Queen; three brothers, Wesley Haynes of Bella Vista, Warren Morris of Alaska, and Butch Morris of Umpire; five sisters, Helen Todd of Little Rock, Linda Davis of Umpire, Gayla Williamson of Wilmer, Ala., Maxine Tallant of Horatio and Judy Seals of Prairie Grove; also grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 4 in the First Assembly of God Church of De Queen with Rev. Orville Cottrell, Bro. Billy Don Weeks, and Bro. Tracy Welch officiating. Burial followed in the Bethel Cemetery at Umpire. The family received friends at Chandler Funeral Home in De Queen on Thursday, Jan. from 6-8 p.m.
