Scrappers take conference win over Badgers
The Arkadelphia Badgers came to Scrapper Gym Friday night with an undefeated 3-0 record in District 7-4A.
They left with a conference mark of 3-1 as the Scrappers took a 51-45 victory.
“This was a great win for our program. The kids played really hard,” Coach Mike Ritchie said. “They left it all on the floor.”
The Scrappers are 2-1 in conference following Friday night’s win.
Brandon Shamrock was the leading scorer for Nashville with 21 points. “He did a lot of things for us,” Ritchie said. “He played good defense,” in addition to scoring.
Jose Camacho added 11 points, followed by Tesean Green with 9.
“We’re trying to get our program where we want to be. This is another step on the ladder,” Ritchie said.
“One area where we’re not where we want to be is depth. We need guys to step up on a consistent basis.”
The Scrappers have a busy week ahead of them. They will play in the Wickes Tournament this afternoon (Wednesday) at 4 o’clock. If they win, they will play Thursday at 9 p.m.
The finals at Wickes are set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
The Scrappers have a District 7-4A game Friday at Malvern.
