7 defendants enter guilty pleas in Howard County criminal court
One defendant returned for formal sentencing, and seven others pleaded guilty and received sentences, last Wednesday, the regular day for criminal court in Nashville.
On the bench was Judge Charles Yeargan.
Aracili Ramirez Martinez, 33, Hispanic female, 521 S. Washington, Nashville, had earlier pleaded guilty to a class B felony of first degree forgery. She returned for sentencing which was three years probation plus a fine of $1,500 and court costs.
A trial date of March 26 was set for Tony R. Bearden, 51, black male, 316 W. Shepherd, Nashville, charged with class Y felony rape.
A guilty plea was given by Cedric D. Stuart, 53, black male, 301 E. Spring, Mineral Springs, charged with class D felony fourth offense DWI, plus misdemeanor charges of refusal to take a breathalyzer and driving on a license suspended for DWI. Stuart was sentenced to four years in the Arkansas Department of Correction (ADC) with three years suspended. The refusal to submit misdemeanor was not pursued by the state, ad he was sentenced to 10 days in jail on the drivers license offense to run concurretly with the felony sentence.
Anthony W. Randle, 57, black male, 901 S. Front, Nashville, pleaded guilty a class D felony charge of felon in possession of a firearm, and the state ‘nolle prossed’ or did not pursue a felony charge of agravated assault. He was sentenced to four years in the ADC.
Christopher L. Rodgers, 2nd, 22, white male, 9876 Hwy. 278 W., Nashville, pleaded guilty to a felony charges of accomplice to commerce burglary and theft of property, and gave a ‘true’ plea to a charge of failure to meet the terms of his probation on an April 2009 conviction for second degree forgery, He was sentenced to four years of probation and two terms of 120 days in a Regional Punishment Facility to be served concurrently; plus fines of $1,050 and restitution of $300.
Morris Wilferdo Heard, 43, black male, Texarkana, Ark., pleaded guilty in two separate felony cases. One was for possessing prohibited articles, class C felony, while in jail awaiting trial on a felony charge of tampering with evidence, and misdemeanor charges of obstructing government operations and driving on an expired license. He was sentenced to four years in the ADC.
TJ Demitrus Thomas, 27, black male, 424 Social Hill Loop, Mineral Springs, pleaded guilty to class B felony charges of first degree battery and felon in possession of a firearm. He was sentenced to 12 years on each charge to be served concurrently with a probation revocation from Hempstead County.
Courtney Thomas, 22, black male, Mineral Springs, pleaded guilty to a class D felony charge of hindering apprehension or prosecution. He was fined $500 and court costs.
Joshua Scott, 28, white male, 316 Shepherd, Nashville, charged with class C commercial burglary and class D felony theft of property, was sentenced to three years in the ADC with two years suspended concurrent with parole.
