NJHS students compete in book fair

Yang finished second in the ninth grade fiction category of the competitionStudents at Nashville Junior High School recently competed in a reading fair.

Each participant read a book, prepared a poster about it, and made a presentation to a panel of judges.

Judges included junior high and high school teachers from Nashville, along with students from Henderson State University.

Winners include the following:

Ninth grade fiction – Evan Lamb first place; Cha Yang second.

Eighth grade fiction – Austin Bowman and Karter Castleberry.

Eighth grade non-fiction – Layne Thompson, Hunter White and Glenn Hartness.

Seventh grade fiction – Annie Dallas first place; Olivia Herzog second.

Seventh grade non-fiction – Madi White and Alyssa Ryan, team.

Students will compete today, Jan. 16, at the De Queen/Mena Educational Co-operative.
