Nominations for citizen awards still being accepted
Nominations for citizen awards are still being accepted by the Nashville Chamber of Commerce.
The awards — including Man of the Year, Woman of the Year and the Orange and Black Education Award, will be presented at the chamber’s annual banquet set for Tuesday, Feb. 5 at the First Baptist Church Family Activities Building beginning at 6:30. Theme for the banquet is “Bright Lights, Small City.”
Tickets to the banquet are $15 each, or a table of eight may be reserved for $120. There will be a silent auction, and the Nashville chapter of PEO will serve the banquegt meal.
The education award is either for someone in local schools who has made a great contribution to the community, or someone outside of the schools who has made a great contribution to education.
Wendy Haddan will officially succeed Tim Pinkerton as chamber board president. The new and old chamber directors will be introduced.
Nomination forms are available at the chamber of commerce office on Main Street.
