Former Scrapper named All-Southland Conference
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Ryne Chambers of Nashville, a junior at Stephen F. Austin University, has been named Academic All-Southland Conference.
He also made All-Conference on the field and was named to SLC Commissioner’s List
Chambers is an offensive lineman for the Lumberjacks. He is one of two Lumberjacks who were named to the academic honor list.
Academic All-SLC selections were required to maintain a 3.2 grade-point average, be a starter or significant contributor, and play in at least 50 percent of all competitions.
Chambers was a key figure on one of the top offensive lines in the nation. The Lumberjacks were ranked among the nation’s top teams in pass protection, despite putting the ball in the air nearly 700 times last season.
The SFA offense led the nation in passing and was second in total offense.
Chambers is a 2010 graduate of Nashville High School. He is the son of Roger and Judi Chambers of Nashville and the grandson of Norma J. Jones of Nashville.
