Brothers charged with theft of 40 chainsaws
Two Hispanic brothers are being held in the county jail, awaiting possible felony theft charges.
As many as 40 chainsaws may have been stolen from Husqvarna and subsequently sold to pawnshops in Nashville and Hope, according to officers here.
An immigration agency ‘hold’ has been placed on the two.
Victor Garcia, 27, Hope, and his brother, Sergio, 20, also of Hope, are facing possible felony charges of theft by receiving. Victor Garcia was working at the plant under the name of Edwardo De Leon, and also faces a forgery charge relating to the false identification. Sergio De Leon was not employed at the plant.
Criminal investigators from the Nashville Police Department investigated the case.
